Privacy Policy — Minimal Network
Last updated: 2026-08-06
Minimal Network (“the Extension”) is a browser extension that applies a calmer, minimal interface to X (Twitter) and YouTube. This policy describes what data we process when you use the Extension and related licensing service at api.minnet.tech.
a) Settings (stored in your browser) Layout and design preferences (which features are enabled, colors, fonts, etc.) are saved with chrome.storage (local and sync). This data stays in your browser / Chrome sync account unless you choose to share analytics as described below.
b) License / authentication data If you purchase Pro, a license key and related status (plan, expiry, last check time, checkout order id) are stored in the Extension and sent to our licensing API (https://api.minnet.tech) to create checkout sessions, poll payment completion, and verify that the license is still valid. We do not receive your cryptocurrency wallet keys or card numbers; payment is processed by NOWPayments on their hosted checkout.
c) Optional usage analytics If analytics is enabled in the Extension settings, we may send anonymous events to Google Analytics 4 (Measurement Protocol), such as: extension install/startup, popup views, which features you toggle (platform/feature name and on/off), subscription-related actions, and limited error messages. Events include a random client id, session id, and extension version. We do not send the content of posts, videos, messages, or page HTML.
d) Technical data When the Extension contacts our API or analytics endpoints, standard web request data (such as IP address, time, and user-agent) may be processed by those services for security, reliability, and aggregate statistics.
What we do not do • We do not sell your personal data. • We do not use your data for creditworthiness or lending. • We do not scrape or transmit website content from X or YouTube to operate the minimal UI. • Content scripts run only on X/Twitter and YouTube as declared in the manifest.
How we use data • Provide and remember your minimalist layout and design choices. • Unlock and periodically re-verify Pro features. • Improve reliability and understand aggregate feature usage (if analytics is on). • Prevent abuse of the licensing system.
Third parties • NOWPayments — payment processing for Pro (their privacy policy applies on their checkout pages). • Google Analytics — optional anonymous usage analytics when enabled. • Hosting provider for api.minnet.tech — operates the licensing API.
Your choices • Free X mode works without an account or purchase. • You can disable analytics in the Extension’s About tab (Share anonymous usage analytics). • You can remove a license from the browser via the popup, or uninstall the Extension to delete local storage data we control on-device. • Chrome sync settings follow your Google account sync preferences.
Data retention License and order records on our API are kept as needed to provide Pro access, support, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Browser storage is under your control (clear site/extension data or uninstall).
Children The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Quick checklist before submit
Note: analyticsOptIn defaults to on in code, and GA is currently placeholder (G-XXXXXXXXXX). For the store, either (a) ship real GA IDs and disclose analytics as above, or (b) default analytics off / leave GA unconfigured and still disclose optional collection “if enabled.” Don’t claim “no data collection” while opt-in analytics and license API remain in the product.
I can also turn this into a ready-to-host privacy.html in the repo or tighten any field to a character limit if the form rejects a block.
